November 18, 1978 - Mark Shupp accounts for every point as Palmerton gains a 23-0 Centennial League win over rival Slatington. Shupp boots a 28-yard field goal in the opening quarter to give the Blue Bombers, coached by Mark Newman, an early lead. Shupp adds a pair of 1-yard TD runs, a 4-yard tally and a pair of extra points. The Palmerton quarterback sets up one of the scores with a 54-yard pass to Brett Craig. Terry Rex rushes for 58 yards to lead the Bombers, and catches a 24-yard pass during a scoring drive.
