Christmas in July
The Palmerton Memorial Park Association is hosting Christmas in July at the Palmerton Pool from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday. There will be a Lucky Candy Cane scramble, gifts for all ages, and of course a visit from Santa Claus. Cookies will also be distributed. Donations are appreciated. Come and join in the fun.
Class of 1955
Palmerton Area High School Class of 1955 will meet at 12:30 p.m. July 17 at Morgans, North Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown. Call Dorothy at 610-826-4751 for information.
Park concert
The concert in the Palmerton Borough Park this Sunday will be by the Sunshine Symphony (’80s oldies). The concert is from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Park Bandstand. This concert is sponsored by Bill George & George’s Plumbing & Heating Fuel Oil. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of great music.
The Bandstand Committee reserves the right to cancel a concert in case of inclement weather. There are no rain dates. There is no smoking or vaping allowed in the park.
Class of 1948
The Palmerton Area High School Class of 1948 will be celebrating their 71st year since graduation at noon on July 18 at Bert’s Steak House, Delaware Avenue in Palmerton. All are welcome. Bring your spouse, companion or caregiver. Any questions, please call Norm Eckhart at 610-826-3218.
Library board
The Palmerton Area Library Board of Directors will meet at 4 p.m. July 17 at the library. Meetings are open to the public.
Summer reading programs
Summer reading programs are continuing at the Palmerton Area Library. Preschool programs of stories, songs and movement are Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. The dates are July 11, 18 and 25.
Kindergarten and first-grade programs of stories, puppet show and crafts are Fridays at 10:30 a.m. The dates are July 12, 19 and 26.
Second- through sixth-grade STEAM challenges and make and takes are Fridays at 10:30 a.m. The dates are July 12, 19 and 26.

Holy Trinity Lutheran
Children’s special involvement in worship at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton is the second Sunday of the month. The next date will be at 10:15 a.m. July 14. Holy Communion will be observed.
CACPAC is in need of paper products: napkins, paper towels, tissues, etc., as well as condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles, olives, relish, etc. Please put your donations in the shopping cart in the church narthex.
Senior center
The Palmerton Senior Center, 501 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. (ambulance building) serves lunch daily at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. For lunch reservations, call the day before by 9:30 a.m.
Activities include pinochle, penny games and bingo. For information or to reserve lunch, call 610-826-4505.
