The Pocono Arts Council will present the 24th Annual Juried Student Exhibition 2018, Feb. 1-17 at the PoconoArts Cultural Center, 18 N. Seventh St., Stroudsburg.
The exhibition features 59 entries from students enrolled K-12 in Monroe County school districts and private schools within the county.
An artists’ reception and awards ceremony will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday. The exhibition includes works in 2-D, 3-D (sculpture/nonfunctional), fine crafts (functional) and photography.
Mediums represented include acrylic, ceramics, clay, digital, glass, mixed media, needlepoint, pastel, photography, watercolor, oil, pencil and pen and ink.
Serving as judge for the show is Danny Moyer, a practicing artist/educator from Easton. He currently serves as board chairman for the Arts Community of Easton and has served on committees of the Riverside Festival of the Arts and as a visiting artist at Lafayette College.
His work can be found at Brick and Mortar Art Gallery and Connexions Gallery in Easton and many other public and private collections.
Cash prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, Senior Awards (three per category) and Junior Awards through Grade 8 (three per category).
The public is encouraged to support these aspiring young artists by attending the reception and visiting the ARTSPACE Gallery during the show’s run to view the fine artwork created by these talented students.
