WEST PENN TOWNSHIP
West Penn Township supervisors, on a 2-0 vote, with Supervisor Tim Houser absent, took the following action Monday morning:
• Approved an agreement contract with the Teamster Local 773 Union for three years, with conditional approval by board solicitor Paul J. Datte, effective Jan. 1, 2019.
• Approved a memorandum of understanding that states that township employees shall use its equipment and township volunteers on park cleanup day.
• Approved a memorandum of understanding that states said the township will agree to contribute $300 per month to Jeremy Frable’s retirement account.
• Adopted a resolution accepting the deed of dedication for the land from Jeremy and Joshua Cramer, which is the railroad right of way that is connected to a railroad right of way that East Penn Township had acquired from Josh Cramer, the owner of the rail right of way.
The land is located in East Penn Township. The donation is 5.9 acres and will connect East Penn’s rail right of way and end at Quarry Road.
• Agreed to close or reduce the $6,000 letter of credit to Bruce Rader contingent upon final inspection from Lehigh Engineering LLC. If there is anything outstanding, the board will reduce the letter of credit to cover the outstanding items.
If the final inspection is done and there is nothing outstanding, then the board is willing to close the letter of credit.
• Adopted a resolution for the destruction of specific township records due to the Municipal Records Manual the township follows that tells them how long they have to retain certain information.
• Announced the township will hold its reorganization meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 7. The board’s regular meeting will follow at 7 p.m.
