Two homes were extensively damaged by fire Monday evening near the borough of Beaver Meadows.

The fire was reported just after 6 p.m. when the homeowner reported a large propane tank was on fire in the basement.

The homes are located along the 1400 block of Berwick Street also Route 93.

Fire companies from Carbon, Schuylkill and Luzerne counties responded to the blaze. Both homes suffered extensive interior damage.
