WEST PENN TOWNSHIP

West Penn Township supervisors took the following action Monday morning:

• Approved the Dollar General’s maintenance agreement. The store will be on Route 309 south of the St. Luke’s Urgent Care.

• On a 2-0 vote, with an abstention from board Chairman Tony Prudenti, approved park mowing and trimming proposals as follows: Sterner’s Mulch & More to do J.E. Morgan Memorial Park — West Penn Park East, at $115 per cut and trim, and Boyle Electro Mechanical to do West Penn Park West — Zion Stone, at $150 per cut and trim. Prudenti abstained from the vote because he works as a subcontractor.

• Supervisor Ted Bogosh noted that for businesses, agencies and organizations, a spotted lanternfly permit is required for those working within the quarantine, who move vehicles, products or other conveyances within or out of the quarantine. There is no cost to businesses to obtain a permit. The online permit course and exam are located on the Penn State Extension website.
