Buzzard is Troop 555 sixty-sixth Eagle Scout

Bradley Thomas Buzzard, 18, of Lansford is 66th Scout to be honored with the title of Eagle Scout for Troop 555 in Jim Thorpe. Buzzard is the son of Robert Jay Thomas and Wendy Sue Bochicchio. He has been in scouting for eight years.

Buzzard’s Honor Court was held on April 6 at Christ Lutheran Church in Penn Forest Township. Anthony Luis Ward and Sean Luke Bevilacqua also attained their Eagle award in the court of honor.

Buzzard attends Panther Valley High School, where he is a senior. He is active in varsity baseball, basketball and track and has earned a baseball scholarship to Chestnut Hill College.

To show his appreciation for the Lansford Little League Association for the years he played there, Buzzard chose to make them the beneficiary of his Eagle Scout project.

Buzzard restored two sets of bleachers, constructed two picnic tables and six benches for use by the Little League.

“I would also like to say thank you to the Lansford Little League Association for allowing me to have my project up at their complex,” Buzzard said. “I wanted my project to be there, because I wanted to give back as a token of my gratitude for letting me play there for all those years.”

Buzzard’s project took more than 100 hours to complete. He thanked his father, Robert, for helping him every step of the way in life and in scouting. He presented his father with his mentor’s pin.
