Ted Nugent returning to Penn’s Peak
Penn’s Peak announces that Ted Nugent will return in concert at 8 p.m. Aug. 20.
Nugent has carved a permanent place in rock & roll history as the ultimate guitar-shredding showman, selling more than 40 million albums, performing over 6,500 high-octane live shows, and continuing to set attendance records at venues around the globe.
Nugent was named Detroit’s Greatest Guitar Player of All Time by readers of MLive, and his no-holds-barred career spans five decades of multiplatinum hits. From the ground breaking Amboy Dukes’ hit “Journey to the Center of the Mind,” to classics like “Stranglehold” (ranked in the Top 100 Classic Rock Songs and #1 Guitar Lick), “Cat Scratch Fever,” (32nd Best Hard Rock Song of All Time) Damn Yankees chartbuster “High Enough,” and cult classic “Fred Bear,” (the most requested song for radio airplay in Michigan & Wisconsin), Nugent and his inimitable sound have been featured on VH1’s Behind the Music, A&E’s Biography and more.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant and Bar. Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant ticket sales are walk-up only.

• Judy Collins & Arlo Guthrie at 8 p.m. July 24.
Judy Collins has inspired audiences with sublime vocals, boldly vulnerable songwriting, personal life triumphs, and a firm commitment to social activism. In the 1960s, she evoked both the idealism and steely determination of a generation united against social and environmental injustices. Songs include, “Both Sides Now” and “Send in the Clowns.”
Arlo Guthrie has been known to generations as a prolific songwriter, social commentator, master storyteller, actor and activist.

• John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band will appear at 8 p.m. June 13.
After a decadelong run on the Northeast music scene during which they became recognized as one of the best and most popular unsigned acts in the country, John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown finally broke through nationally with leader John Cafferty’s score to the motion picture, “Eddie & The Cruisers.”
