Breakfast
An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, hash, ham, bacon, sausage, toast, cereal, OJ, milk, coffee and tea. Prices for adult and children.
Free community meal
A community meal will be served from 4-6 p.m. Jan. 23 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Come enjoy a free meal and fellowship.
Food pantry
The food pantry for Palmerton area families in need will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton on Jan. 24. The CACPAC sponsored pantry serves households in Palmerton, Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships, and the Palmerton Area School District including Bowmanstown.
The Palmerton Food Bank is always in need of canned goods, nonperishable food items and monetary donations. If you can help, please bring items to any CACPAC member. Most area churches collect on a regular basis.
Art show and lunch
The 14th Annual Art Show & Lunch sponsored by the Friends of the Palmerton Area Library will be held Jan. 26 from noon to 3 p.m. at the library. Tickets include entrance to view the show and a lunch prepared by the Friends. Tickets may be purchased at the library. A portion of artwork sales will benefit the library. Library collaboratory
Palmerton Library Collaboratory is for ages 9 to 13. Join together for hands-on activities related to science, technology, engineering, art and math. The program is held the third Saturday of the month, the next being Saturday, Jan. 18, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Story hour
Preschool story hour is held at the Palmerton Library every Friday morning during the school year at 10:30 a.m.
Palmerton council
A regular meeting of the Palmerton Borough Council will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 in Borough Hall Council Chambers, 443 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
Wing night
Wing night will be held at the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Co., 269 Lime St., Bowmanstown from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 23. Take-out available by calling 610-852-2722 after 6 p.m.
Hot Chocolate Day
Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 N. Third St., Palmerton will be holding Hot Chocolate Day from 1:45 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 22. They will be outside LHL sharing hot chocolate with the students, their parents, and teachers at S.S. Palmer Elementary School. Bad weather date is Jan. 29.
Faith Alive
Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Bowmanstown, has announced the following schedule for the week.
Sunday contemporary worship: Jan. 19, 8:30 a.m. and Traditional Worship at 10:45 a.m. with Pastor Rob Timlin.
Sunday school: Every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages.
Special Combined Service: Jan. 26, 10 a.m. followed by a churchwide vision/planning meeting for all members and faithful attendees to discuss the future of Faith Alive.
Prayer & Praise Service: Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Read and Learn God’s word.
Events Committee: Birthday Bash on Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Must sign up to attend this fun evening of fellowship.
The Church is looking for volunteers to help with video projection and sound tech, website help and puppeteers to be part of “The God Squad” puppet ministry.
