Four plead in drunken driving cases

Four defendants in pending criminal case entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court to driving under the influence.

Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the pleas from the following:William Barry Snitzer,31, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Aug. 30, 2015, along Route 903 by Kidder Township police. A test showed 0.13 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so Snitzer could obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Stephen Kurus,48, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Sept. 5, 2015, along Route 903 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.19 BAC.A first offense, he was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation and render 25 hours of community service.Jeffrey Orta,36, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Nov. 20, 2015, along Route 1009 by Kidder Township police. A test showed 0.17 BAC.Sentencing was deferred.James A. Aldio Jr.,36, of Walnutport, was arrested on Feb. 23, 2014, along Route 248 in Lower Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so Aldio could obtain a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.
