Rush taxes
Real estate tax bills sent to Rush Township residents contain an error in office hours. Tax Collector Dolores Walck has noted her office will be closed on Aug. 3 and 4. The office will then be open on Aug. 10 and 11, which is the reverse of what is on the tax bill.Residents may wish to take note of this change to avoid any inconvenience.Senior newsThe Tamaqua Senior Citizens group met last week with 73 members in attendance. President Jean Machamer conducted the business session and provided readings.Eleanor Roberts offered the invocation, entitled "The Best Things In Life Are Free." Secretary Eleanor Schmerfeld provided her weekly report. Vice President Doris Brobst reported sending a get well card to Isabelle Brode and noted receiving a thank you card from Shirley Mooney.The next meeting will be held July 29, at 1 p.m., at the Tamaqua Community Center, located to the rear of Boyer's Food Mart. The meeting will include the celebration of June and July birthdays.Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.SS. Peter and PaulThe Holy Rosary Society of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will attend the 8 a.m. Mass this coming Sunday.
