Palmerton vocalists join Marine Band of Allentown

The Marine Band of Allentown will present a concert at West Park, 16th and Linden streets, in Allentown at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The program theme is music from the ’60s and ’70s, and will feature a contingent of guest vocalists, several of whom are from the Palmerton area.

All of the vocalists performed in a production of Godspell at Jerusalem UCC in 2016 and/or 2017, and the concert will open with them singing a medley of songs from Godspell with the band.

Other selections include music from Chicago, Carole King, The Doors, Sonny and Cher, The Who, Michael Jackson, Grease, and The Blues Brothers, among others.

The performers include Palmerton Area High School students Matt Binder and Kelly Heinick; the Palmerton based duo of Frank and Resa Hall, known as IvoryBlu; Lehigh Valley-based punk rocker Phil Milia; Palmerton’s own country star, Donna Parsons; and Lehigh Valley theater legend Bob Fahringer.

Admission is free, but there will be a freewill offering, a portion of which will go toward the band’s operating expenses and a portion of which will go to CACPAC.
