Katya Zeleniak, granddaughter of Mary Zeleniak Pituch of Nesquehoning and the late Rev. Basil Zeleniak of Mahanoy City, was named student of the month in February.

Katya is a fourth-grade student at St. Michael School in Augusta, Maine. Her parents are Darryl and Karen Zeleniak of Litchfield, Maine. Her father, Darryl, is a graduate of Marian High School who practices orthodontics in Augusta.Her grandmother Mary Pituch and her husband, Victor Pituch reside in Lake Hauto.
