Sewer bills owed
The Borough of Bowmanstown, 490 Ore St., Box 127, Bowmanstown, has filed municipal liens against owners of properties that are delinquent in sewer bills owed the municipality. The liens are filed against:Donna L. Sought is $112,116.60 in principal, interest and costs, plus attorney's fees.The Bank of New York Mellon, Fort Mill, S.C., has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against Nicholas Butrie, 713 Center St., Jim Thorpe, over a property at that address. Sought is $71,528.07 in principal, interest and costs, plus attorney's fees.Appeals suspensionDonald J. Hill, Car Corner Service Center, rear 32 Market St., Tresckow, is appealing the suspension of its official inspection station certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation.Hill claims in a letter dated Dec. 1, 2010, the agency suspended the certification for a six-month period, to be effective Jan. 6, 2011, and until a bad check in the amount of $100 and a $30 penalty is paid the state.In the appeal, the appellant claims he was unaware that a check for insufficient funds dated Sept. 9, 2009, existed, and that in May, 2010, he contacted officials in Harrisburg and paid all past due arrearages. Hill says in the petition that he also sent a check by certified mail on Dec. 30 in the amount of $130.Unpaid dues, chargesThe Bear Creek Lakes Civic Association, 57 Pool Drive, Jim Thorpe, has filed a lien against Teresa Donahue, 27 Mountain View Drive, Jim Thorpe, seeking unpaid dues and assessments she owes. The lien is in the amount of $2,362.50.Municipal liensPenn Forest Township has filed municipal liens against owners of properties in the township that owe the township for unpaid garbage bills.
