Nine persons who entered guilty pleas recently before Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin in the Schuylkill County Court, three received sentences to be served in the state correctional institution and a woman who stole church funds got three months in the county prison,

George Lewis Eyster, 46, Pottsville and Gerald Franklin Manbeck, 45, Frackville, were each sentenced to serve four to eight years in a state correctional institution on charges of criminal conspiracy to sell drugs, dealing in its proceeds of unlawful activities and being involved in a corrupt organization as cited by the state police drug task force. They also must pay $100 to the SAE (Substance Abuse Education) fund, $50 to the CJEA (Criminal Justice Enhancement Account) fund and costs of prosecution. Both were ordered to report to the county prison on Friday, November 6 at 12 noon to be transported by the sheriff's office to a state facility.Arthur Edward Deiter, 52, Pottsville, was sentenced to serve one to two years in a state correctional institution on the charge of involuntary manslaughter for failing to obtain medical attention for his mother who developed gangrene on her left side. He also must report to the prison on November 6 to be transported to a state facility. He has to pay a fee of $50 to the CJEA fund and court costs. Deiter was cited by Detective Steve B. Guers, Pottsville Police.Takes church fundsMolly A. Melocheck, 58, now of Grantville, was sentenced to serve three months to 23 months in the Schuylkill County Prison on charge of forgery and when released from prison to serve an additional 12 months on probation on a charge of theft by deception. She reports to the prison on Friday, November 20 at 10 a.m. to begin her sentence. Melocheck was cited by Trooper Mary Rogers for taking $44,988.88 from the Salem Hetzel Lutheran Church, of Washingtown Township. The police report stated she took the money from the church's Memorial Fund while serving as the secretary/treasurer. The court granted her permission to partcipate in the work release program if she qualifies and she has to pay $50 to the CJEA fund plus court costs.Keith Allan Houston, 50, of Kittarining, on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol was given credit for spending two days in the county prison and was placed on probation for six months, pay a fine of $1,000, court costs, $100 to the SAE fund, $50 to the CJEA fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund and $60 to the Schuylkill Medical Center for blood test and $50 per month for each month on probation. Houston was also directed to receive outpatient treatment for a suspected drinking problem and his driver's license is suspended 12 months. On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia he received a sentence of 12 months probation and on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana a 30 day probation sentence which run concurrent with the dui sentence. Houston was cited by Patrolman Brian Reno, Pottsville Police.Luis Alonso Orpineda Ramirez, 29, Shenandoah, is on probation for six months after serving 72 hours in the county prison on a dui charge brought by Captain Jamie Gennarini, Shenandoah Police. He also must pay a fine of $1,000 and court costs, $100 to the SAE fund, $50 each to the CJEA and Catastrophe funds and a $50 monthly probation supervision fee. His license is suspended 12 months. On charges of operating his vehicle without an official inspection certificate and driving without a license was fine $50 plus $100 costs.Kevin R. Ketchledge, 24, Mahanoy City, received credit for having spent 27 days in a rehab center and avoided spending 48 hours in the county prison. He is now serving six months on probation, fined $500 and costs, must pay $100 to the CJEA fund, $50 each to the CJEA and Catastrophe funds and a $50 monthly probation fee. His license is suspended 12 months. On a charge of operating an ATV on streets or highways was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Ketchledge was cited by Patrolman Charles Kovalewksi, Mahanoy City Police.Nadine Marie Mason, 26, Schuylkill Haven, has completed serving 72 hours in the county prison on a dui charge and is now serving six months on probation, fined $1,000. pay $300 to SAE fund and $50 each to CJEA and Catastrophe funds and $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center. Her license is suspended 12 months. On a charge of failing to drive at a safe speed was fined $75 plus $50 costs.Edgar Leonel Guzman Pinto, 28, Bloomsburg, served 48 hours in the county prison on a dui charge and is now servving six months on probation, fined $500, pay $50 each to the CJEA and Catastrophe funds, a $50 monthly probation supervision fee and $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center. His license is suspended 12 months. On charges of a driver required to have a license was fined $200 and on a charge of failing to stop at a stop sign fined $25 plus 100 in costs. Pinto was cited by Patrolman Michael O Neill, Girardville Police.Atlanta Marie Day, 22, Schnecksville, spent 72 hours in the county prison on a dui charge and is now on probation for six months, fined $1,5000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 each to CJEA and Catastrophe funds, a $50 monthly probation fee and pay court costs. On two counts of violating the red light signal was fined $50 plus $100 costs. Day was cited by Patroman Karl Harig, Tamaqua Police.
