The Tamaqua Area High School's senior marketing class, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, is organizing a canned food drive to help needy families in the area.

Earlier this week students in the marketing class held a community drop-off in the high school lobby, allowing area residents to bring unexpired canned goods or boxes of dried food. All the donations will stay within the Schuylkill-Carbon county area during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.At tonight's TAHS football game, the class will accept donations through the "Four cans for free football" promotion. Anyone who brings four canned goods or boxes of dried food to the ticket window, will be granted free admission.Football fans can help white out hunger by wearing white to the game.The marketing class at Tamaqua Area High School is pleased to be lending a hand in the community."I'm very excited to help the community.
