The Tamaqua High School Class of 1943 is planning a 68-year anniversary reunion for this summer. Topics to be discussed include an Easter Egg hunt and summer events.New members are always welcome.Lenten serviceThe Tamaqua ministerium will sponsor a series of free Community Lenten services leading up to Easter. The services will begin at noon and will be followed by light luncheons.Upcoming services and locations will be: April 6, St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 266 W. Broad St.; and April 13, Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 W. Broad St.A Community Good Friday service will be held April 22, at noon, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St. This service will not be followed by a luncheon.St. Jerome'sSt. Jerome's Office of Adult Formation will host a free simple soup supper on April 7, prior to Stations of the Cross. Doors to the school gym will open at 5:30 p.m., with Stations scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend and enjoy a free bowl of homemade soup. The next free coffee and donut session will be held April 17, Palm Sunday.New catechists are needed for the parish religious education program in the fall.
