The Coaldale State General Hospital’s Geriatric Center has been accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals, according to Mrs. Florence Tarlton, president of the Board of Trustees of the hospital.
She said the accreditation, which covers a two-year period, is the result of an on-site survey made by a full representation of the Joint Commission’s Accreditation Council for long-term care facilities.
The accreditation program assists facilities in pursuing high quality health care through education, evaluation and consultations. Coaldale’s center has voluntarily chosen to operate according to standards set by the accreditation council, Tarlton said.
