The sum of $12,500 is the goal set by the board of the Panther Valley-Carbon County Unit, American Cancer Society, for its annual fund campaign, during a meeting last night in the Blue Ridge Country Club, Palmerton.

Robert Tarlton, Lansford, county crusade chairman, said chairmen and volunteer solicitors have been named in each community and everything is in readiness for the financial drive that will begin on April 1.

Named to the nominating committee were Mrs. Dennis McGinley, Jim Thorpe; Miss Rose Watkins, Nesquehoning; Mrs. George Troxell, Lehighton; and Mrs. Theodore Heffelfinger, Palmerton. He said 16 board members will be elected at the annual meeting and awards program in September.
