Dr. Susan M. Featro will perform a concert of Christmas music at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua. This concert is a benefit for the Tamaqua Community Arts Center and the Tamaqua Blue Raider Foundation, which funds special projects in the Tamaqua Area School District.

Featro is excited to do this concert for the second year as a benefit for the foundation, as she is a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and has been a teacher in the school district. She is also excited to support the arts in the community where she lives.

The Tamaqua Community Arts Center held its grand opening in June 2012 and features performances and arts education. Featro has released one CD of religious music, “Voice Lifted,” and now has a second CD available, “Voice Lifted at Christmas.”

The Dec. 9 performance will feature her playing the piano and guitar and singing a full program of familiar carols and special holiday pieces. She will be joined by special musical guests for a few songs.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, with 50 percent going to the Tamaqua Blue Raider Foundation and the remaining 50 percent going to the arts center.
