Lehighton school directors are considering what to do with properties in the district not being utilized, or which have been earmarked for closing under the district’s proposed building/renovation program.
Dr. Shirley Ball, superintendent, said she needs the board’s input for direction on all properties in order to prepare a future course of action. The district’s architects have set September 1992, as the completion date for the building program that includes a new high school.
Ball said the board needs to decide what to do with the Franklin Heights, Franklin Elementary and Packerton buildings and the first and third ward elementary buildings and accompanying property.
