Approximately 50 children had a spooky fun time Wednesday during the Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club Halloween Spooktacular party.
The party was held at the Lehighton Recreation Center as a safe alternative to Trick or Treating. Children up to age 12 attending classes in Lehighton Area School District were invited.While there was no cost to children attending the event, the club had asked children to donate a canned good item, pet food item or old hearing aids or a pair of eyeglasses.Through this collection, 60 cans of food, two cans of cat food and six pair of glasses were collected.As children entered the center, they gathered up candy and treats and then played several games. Also children took part in a costume contest parade and entered the spooktacular haunted house. The haunted house was manned by Boys from Concern Treatment Center.The event was chaired by Carol Leslie and Jane Longazel, members of the LALLC.
