While curbs were being painted yellow by the Bowmanstown work crew some paint splashed onto the mural at the old post office. At the Oct. 27 meeting a bill had been received for $245 to repaint it.

"We thought there was minimal damage," said council president Burdell Steigerwalt, "but the owner repainted the whole mural."Mayor Keith Billig said that was not fair.Council member Pam Leiby recalled only a few little splashes of yellow.The borough has pictures of the damage. Steigerwalt said an offer should be made to pay what is considered a fair share.Councilman Norman Engle made a motion to pay $100. It was passed.The burning and parking ordinances are going to be advertised for adoption at the Nov. 24 meeting.Leiby said a personnel meeting was held and raises were set. They will be reviewed at the Nov. 3 meeting.The EMC insurance inspector said rails should be added to the steps at the rear entrances to the municipal building.The borough received $1,774 from the tax claim bureau for August and $134 for local ordinance violations.Liquid fuel money to be received in 2010 from the state is estimated at $22,525 which is $886 less than for 2009.Public works director Ernie Guldner said a load of cinders has been laid in, a snowplow is on the truck and the spreader will be shortly.Engle said nothing was heard from the Court of Common Pleas about the zoning appeal with Duane Schleicher. The hearing was Oct. 14 and the judge has 90 days to make the decision.
