Weather shines on Jim Thorpe's 15th annual Halloween Parade

In stark contrast to the very soggy weather throughout the area on Saturday, the 15th Annual Jim Thorpe Halloween Parade was greeted by clear blue skies and sunshine as marchers and floats made their way through the streets of Jim Thorpe on Sunday afternoon.

Marching the length of the East side of the town, the paraders zig-zagged their way from Second Street on up to the Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall on 10th Street where the parade disbanded.Everyone then entered the Hall to hear the decision of the judges as to who the Parade Award Winners were and while they were there, they were all treated to hot dogs and hot chocolate which were distributed by the Memorial Hall Staff members.Organizers for the parade were Kenny Hurley, Mike Gontar, and Kathy Leinhard and it was sponsored by local businesses and individuals.
