A woman who left her three-year-old child alone in an apartment to go to a local bar, was sentenced to a county jail term on Thursday in Carbon County court after entering a guilty plea.

Tracy Marziani, 24, of Nesquehoning, pleaded to one count of endangering the welfare of a child and was sentenced by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II to serve six to 12 months in prison.Marziani was arrested by borough police for an incident on July 18. Police were called by a neighbor who reported the young boy was left alone in an apartment and was crying. Police tried to get information from the child but due to his age he could not help them.Officers called the office of Children and Youth who took the boy to the home of his father in Nesquehoning and gave him temporary custody.Marziani was later found in a local bar.Defense Atty. Joseph D., Perilli said Marziani was remorseful for what happened and said his client suffered from cross-addiction of alcohol and illegal substances.Marziani told Nanovic, I'm real sorry for what I've done."At the time of her arrest Marziani was on probation for a charge of false identification to law enforcement officers. After accepting her plea and sentencing her on the endangering count, Nanovic conduct an Gagnon hearing on the petition to revoke her probation filed by the adult probation office.Marziani did not dispute the charges and was resentenced on the false ID count to serve six to 12 months in jail. The jail terms run concurrently.Nanovic also ordered Marziani to get both a drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations and follow any recommendations for treatment, impose zero tolerance of drug or alcohol use, render 20 hours of community service, get her General Diploma Degree (GED) and pay a $50 per month supervision fee.She was given credit for 78 days spent in jail to date on the charges and was returned to the county prison.
