A winter storm watch is in effect for Wednesday.

Heavy mixed precipitation is possible, with the potential for snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches and ice accumulations of around  one tenth.

Snow is expected to overspread the area from southwest to northeast around or just after daybreak Wednesday morning. The snow could be heavy at times during the morning and early

afternoon. Snow will likely transition to sleet and then freezing rain from south to north sometime Wednesday afternoon.

A brief changeover to rain is possible, especially at lower elevations, before precipitation tapers off Wednesday evening.

Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during both morning and afternoon commutes on Wednesday. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.

  There is still some uncertainty regarding how quickly the transition from snow to a wintry mix to even rain occurs.
