The Improvement Committee of Lansford Alive! plans its 5th annual Panther Valley Pumpkin Parade on Oct. 24, with a rain date of Oct. 25.
The parade starts at 3:30 p.m. at the borough swimming pool and ends with a childrens' party on Ridge Street featuring candy, hay rides, pumpkin decorating and music. Children who want to march in the third division of the parade in their favorite costumes are asked to register between 1:30-2:45 p.m. on parade day at the west end of the Panther Valley Football Stadium.Parents are encouraged to march with their children. Wagons and strollers are welcome.Childrens' costumes will be judged at 3 p.m. at the stadium. Trophies will be presented at the childrens' party after the parade.The Panther Valley Pumpkin Parade is a traditon that began in the 1960s and early 1970s and was sponsored by the Panther Valley Jaycees. The Improvement Committtee of Lansford Alive! is proud to continue this tradition to provide local children and adults with lots of fun and community spirit.Any groups wishing to participate are asked to call (570)645-4455 for a registration form.
