Tamaqua Area High School took its annual Homecoming celebration to the borough's downtown Thursday evening with a parade. The festivities continued at Tamaqua Area Sports Stadium with a tailgate party that was open to the public. Tonight, weather permitting, the 2009 Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at halftime of the Blue Raiders' football game with visiting North Schuylkill, which features two undefeated teams. The Homecoming festivities are sponsored by the school's student government association. Here, the Tamaqua High cheerleaders and mascot the Lone Raider take a ride on East Broad Street.
