Two Lebanon County residents were arrested for attempting to break into a soda machine in Schuylkill County.

The incident occurred about 11:53 p.m. along SR183 at the County Beverage building. According to troopers Drew Nicholas Souders, 20, of Lebanon, arrived at the business on foot and used a crowbar to try and break into a Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Pottsville soda machine. He could not get the machine all the way open but did cause $800 in damages to the machine.Troopers said Souders then walked southbound on 183 and was picked up by Matthew Allen Derr, 18, of Mount Gretna, who was driving a Honda Civic.The two were later picked up by Lebanon city police for the same type of crimes committed in their coverage area.The two were charged by troopers with criminal mischief for the Schuylkill County incident.
