Food Pantry

The Shepherd House Food Pantry at Ebenezer E.C. Church will be open on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. Recipients must reside within the Jim Thorpe Area School District. The pantry is located at 441 Center Ave. in Jim Thorpe. Please call (570) 325-2855 for more information or to volunteer.At the November pantry Shepherd House would like to try to distribute foods for a Thanksgiving meal. Please help them provide children in the community with a memorable meal with their families by donating a food item to the bin at the Jim Thorpe Market. Your donations are always greatly needed and appreciated. Perishable items can be dropped off at the church office Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon. Monetary donations can be dropped off or mailed.Leaf pickupMembers of the Jim Thorpe Borough crew will begin to collect leaves throughout the community on Monday, Oct. 12. They will also be collected Oct. 19-23. If you have questions, please contact the borough office.Fire company meetingNomination of officers will take place at the next meeting of the members of the Phoenix Hose Company. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. at the company headquarters.
