Panther Valley School Board approved the hire of Dr. Tammy Chrin to work as special education supervisor to replace Dr. Catherine H. Nelson.

Nelson was recently appointed to serve as special education director at Weatherly Area School District. She worked at Panther Valley since 2017.

Chrin is a current director of special education at Williams Valley School District and obtained her Bachelor of Science in early childhood at Elizabethtown College and her master’s degree in special education at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.

With advanced knowledge in the special education field and PDE certifications for the mental and physically handicapped, the school district believed her to be the best fit.

“We are going to miss our current supervisor, Dr. Nelson, and we wish her the best,” said board member Renee DeMelfi.
