Library food collectionThe Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., will be collecting nonperishable food items during the month of November. Items collected will be donated to the local Shepherd House Food Pantry to help families in need. Food items may be placed in the collection bin in the library.Senior Center scheduleThe Panther Valley Senior Center, 90 E. Catawissa St., announces the following schedule of activities:Thursday, Nov. 7 Scattergories at 11 a.m.Friday, Nov. 8 Lancaster trip. The center is open and will do the Penny Game.Monday, Nov. 11 The center is closed in observance of Veterans Day.Tuesday, Nov. 12 Mt. Airy trip, leaving at 10 a.m. The center will be open.Wednesday, Nov. 13 Trivia at 11 a.m.Thursday, Nov, 14 Blood pressure checks from 11-11:45 a.m.Friday, Nov. 15 Birthdays and Bingo beginning at 11 a.m.Participants are reminded to sign up by 10:30 a.m. for the next day's lunch.LansfordSt. John LutheranTonight at 7 p.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will hold an informal worship. This will be a spiritual, peaceful, evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief, musical, evening prayer.
