A Palmerton Area High School student was cited following an incident at the school in Lower Towamensing Township, which occurred about 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1.

State police at Lehighton said a 16-year-old was cited for disorderly conduct after he got into a verbal altercation with a teacher, then began to use obscene language toward the teacher and principal of the school.
