Tamaqua Area Adult Education courses offered

The Tamaqua Area School District is once again offering fall Adult Education Classes that will begin the week of Oct. 12 at the Senior High School.

Registration for these courses will run through Friday, Oct. 9 at the senior high school office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.Classes will meet for eight weeks and size is limited to 15 students. Preregistration is a must. Courses will be held only if there are acceptable numbers of enrollments.For more information, call the hih school at (570) 668-1901.Microsoft Office 2007¿ What's New?? Begin to effectively utilize 2007's powerful newand expanded features! Become familiar with the new layout, learn how it operates and where the functions are located and grouped. Get introduced to the many new capabilities 2007 offers and see how much your productivity can be increased. This hands-on course will introduce participants to the new interface and features of Word, Excel and PowerPoint in Microsoft Office 2007. Participants will work with files from all three applications to explore enhancements to the Microsoft Office system. Participants are invited to bring their own files to class for experimentation. This course is intended for users who have familiarity with at least one of the covered applications and is limited to 18 participants. (Instructor: Marietta Kotch. Meets Mondays from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Room 106, Tamaqua Area High School)Microsoft Publisher 2007 ¿ Want to create sales, marketing and personal documents with a professional look? This course will give individuals an introduction to producing professional-looking flyers, newsletters, postcards, brochures, and catalogs using graphics, templates and wizards. It is designed for individuals with proficient knowledge of the keyboard and basic computer procedures and will be limited to 18 participants. (Instructor: Marietta Kotch. Meets Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Room 106, Tamaqua Area High School)Fitness Kickboxing ¿ The workout that packs a punch! If you're looking for a high energy, music enhanced, total body workout, then Fitness Kickboxing is the cardio program for you. Muscle and Fitness Magazine rated Fitness Kickboxing one of the top calorie burning workouts in America. Participants wear regular workout clothes and are encouraged to train at their own level of speed and intensity.
