State police at Fern Ridge reported on two, one-vehicle crashes investigated by troopers on Monday, Sept. 21.
About 8:37 a.m. Maria E. Biggs, 54, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee southbound on SR903, near Old Stage Road, in Penn Forest Twonship, Carbon County, when he lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep left the roadway and struck an embankment along the shoulder.Biggs sustained a minor injury in the crash and the Jeep had to be towed from the scene.The second crash occurred about 11:31 a.m. along SR115, in front of the Kingdom Hall church, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Kevin Donoghue, 18, of Effort, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix northbound and attempted to go around a vehicle that was stopped waiting to make a left turn. Donoghue lost control of the car and struck a PPL utility pole along the berm.Donoghue was not injured but his vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
