A Carbon County man pleaded guilty on Thursday to two separate counts of driving under the influence (DUI). He was one of several defendants in pending criminal cases to enter a guilty plea before Carbon County President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II

Speed stopTroy M. Hunsicker, 33, of Lehighton, was arrested on Dec. 12, 2008, after state police stopped him for speeding along SR248 in Bowmanstown. Given a test, the result was .11BAC. He was arrested a second time, on Jan. 18, along Fourth St., in Lehighton. He refused a test in that incident.Hunsicker told Nanovic he had personal problems concerning the breakup of a long-term relationship and used alcohol as medication. He has since stopped drinking and is working fulltime.On the first count Nanovic sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,500 and one year license suspension. On the second DUI count he was sentenced to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $500 and another one year suspension. He will also get a year suspension for the refusal. The prison terms run consecutively.Nanovic also imposed a total of $210 and costs on two summary offenses. Hunsicker was ordered to get both drug and alcohol (D&A) and mental health evaluations and follow any recommendation for treatment.He will begin the jail term at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, and serve it on consecutive weekends of three, three and two days.Kimberly Ann Napolillo, 42, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy-simple assault. She was arrested by Jim Thorpe police on March 20 for an incident along Centre St. Police said Napolillo had a problem with her two sons being bullied at school. She got five persons from the Allentown area to come to Jim Thorpe and confront those allegedly responsible.On the date arrested she brought the five in a van to an area near the high school and a fight ensued.Napolillo said she was frustrated because she reported the incidents with her sons to police and school officials but was told there was nothing they could do. She admitted she made a poor judgment in her actions.Nanovic rejected a recommendation for probation in the plea agreement noting that Napolillo was a former corrections officer in New Jersey and should have known better. Nanovic also said he could not let such actions go with what would be a slap on the hand. He said bringing persons into the county for such an incident is unacceptable.Nanovic sentenced her to serve 10 days to one year in jail and render 20 hours of community service. She will serve the time on consecutive weekends beginning Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.Marie Walker, 34, of Tamaqua, pleaded to one count of DUI. She was arrested on Feb. 16, 2008, along Bertsch St., in Lansford. Given a test, the result was .19BAC.Nanovic placed her on probation for six months and ordered she pay a fine of $300, get a D&A evalulation, and render three hours of community service per month while on probation.Mark P. Hettler, 33, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of DUI. He was arrested on June 28, 2003, after being involved in an accident in the area of 109 Coal St., Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .23BAC.Nanovic sentenced him to serve 48 hours to one day less two years in jail, a fine of $300, get a D&A evaluation, make restitution of $650 for damages in the accident, and zero tolerance on drug or alcohol use. The sentence runs concurrent with a prison term Hettler is currently serving for DUI.Tyler Lee Hackman, 19, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of criminal mischief. He was arrested on Sept. 18, 2008, for damaging the 2003 Toyota Celica of Jeffrey Green.Nanovic placed him on probation for a year and ordered he make restitution of $1,097.10, get his General Education Diploma (GED), and have no contact with Amanda Balliet, who reportedly is the daughter of the victim.Edward Butterworth, 56, of Lansford, pleaded guilty to one count of simple assault. He was arrested on Aug. 14 when Lansford police repsonded to his residence for a reported active domestic incident. Butterworth assaulted Nancy Rutch, who resided with him.Nanovic sentenced him to time served (47 days) to one year in jail and order he get both a D&A and mental health evaluations.Jake Richardson, of Allentown, pleaded to one count of harassment, as a summary, for an incident on Sept. 7, 2007, in Summit Hill involving two young girls, ages 11 and 13. He was originally charged with atttempting to lure the girls into his vehicle.He was fined $300 and costs.All the defendants were also ordered to pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee.
