Emergency responders were called to a vehicle accident that occurred on SR209 in front of the Tamaqua Post Office around 11:42 a.m. Thursday. Reportedly, a maroon Mercury Sable rear-ended a white Spring Glenn Fresh Foods delivery truck as the truck stopped to allow another vehicle to pull out east from the post office. The woman driving the Mercury was treated at the scene by paramedics. Emergency crews cleaned engine coolant that was leaking heavily from the Mercury. Little damage was noticed to the delivery truck. Tamaqua Fire Police controlled traffic during the cleanup. Borough police are investigating.
