The Link for Suicide Awareness and Prevention in Carbon and Schuylkill Counties will host two upcoming events.

The Link at the Rink Let The Good Times Roll will be the theme of a family roller skating party on Nov. 16 at the Strand Roller Rink on 110 W. Blaine St., in McAdoo, from 6-9 p.m. There is an admission fee. Bring your own skates or rent a pair at the rink.

The annual lip sync contest, “Shine Like the Star You Are,” will be held on Dec. 7 at Schick’s Cafe Calcutta on Mauch Chunk Street in Tamaqua. Check-in will begin at 9 p.m.

Proceeds from the events will benefit efforts to increase awareness of suicide and ways to help.
