Food pantry

The Shepherd House Food Pantry at Ebenezer E.C. Church will be open on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. Recipients must reside within the Jim Thorpe School District. The pantry is located at 441 Center Ave. in Jim Thorpe. Please call (570) 325-2855 for more information or to volunteer.At its November pantry they would like to try to distribute foods for a Thanksgiving meal. They would like help in providing children in the community with a memorable meal with their families by donating a food item to the bin at the Jim Thorpe Market. Your donations are always greatly needed and appreciated. Perishable items can be dropped off at the church office Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. noon. Monetary donations can be dropped off or mailed.Bereavement groupThe bereavement support group sponsored by St. Joseph's Church, will meet this evening at the church rectory at 7 o'clock. Anyone struggling with the grief process is invited to attend. The group will meet weekly, until Oct. 19.
