I would like to know who in Lehighton Area likes our garbage collection service from County Waste of Pennsylvania. I sure don't. I have tried to put cut carpet out on garbage day since Jun. 23. The first time I put it out, they wouldn't take it. I checked the borough website and it had stated that we need to have the carpet cut in 3-foot sections and rolled up and secured. I then cut the carpet in 2- and 3-foot pieces, taped it in rolls, then put it out again. Apparently the borough website was wrong!

Needless to say, they didn't pick it up again, but I wasn't home to question the garbage men about why they didn't pick up my carpeting. I left it out for another week and watched for them, I questioned why they were not picking up my carpet. They said call the borough manager and talk to her about it. It was the Saturday after July Fourth, no one is in on a weekend.I personally called County Waste and talked to them about it. I was told to leave it out and a "special truck" would pick it up because the regular garbage truck will not. I was told they would get it on Friday, July 14. No one came to get the carpeting, Big joke on me! I called County Waste again - now they tell me they stopped picking up carpets as of Jun. 29. They checked and saw it was scheduled for pickup for July 14, 2017 - I was transferred to dispatch to discuss the problem.I got the answering machine.We need a better garbage service.SINCERELY,MARILEN MOSERLEHIGHTON
