Five new council members took the oath of office from Schuylkill County Judge Joseph F. McCloskey when Coaldale Borough Council reorganized last night, naming Geno Poli to the president’s position on a unanimous vote.

The new council members are Michael Taras, Joseph Hnat, Juel Gallagher, Richard Marek and James Arner. They join Poli and Clarence Keich as the community’s governing body members.

The new councilmen replace Frank Petrash, Robert Ames, Marie Kutza, John Radocha and Ruth Mary Behr. Ames did not seek re-election and the other four were defeated by the new council members.

Poli succeeds Petrash as the council president.
