The Jim Thorpe girls remained undefeated, while the Tamaqua girls suffered their first loss in basketball action on Wednesday.

The Olympians rolled past Shenandoah Valley, and the Blue Raiders fell to Mahanoy Area.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Shenandoah-Jim Thorpe

Skyler Searfoss scored a game-high 20 points to spark Jim Thorpe to a 59-30 non-league win over Shenandoah Valley.

Olivia Smelas recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Natalia Richards chipped in with a career-high 15 points.

Abby Conroy paced the Blue Devils with 15 points.

The Olympians improved to 8-0.

Mahanoy Area handed Tamaqua its first loss of the season, rolling to a 67-38 non-league win.

Madison Cavenas scored a team-high 15 points, as four Golden Bears (8-1) reached double-digit scoring.

The Blue Raiders (6-1) received a game-high 21 points from Emma Kuczynski, while Jamie Zuber chipped in with eight.

Teammate Damian Rodriguez added a decision at 170 pounds.

Tamaqua-Nativity

Cam Lewis had 16 points to lead Tamaqua to a 46-23 victory over Nativity.

The Blue Raiders also received eight points from Gianni Valentine.
