Allison Collevechio Fredericks, a 2002 graduate of Panther Valley High School, has been named Middle School Teacher of the Year for the Martin County School District in Florida. The presentation was made at a recent awards dinner held at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

The daughter of Gwyneth and Kevin Collevechio, both of Lansford, Fredericks began teaching at Martin County's Anderson Middle School after graduating from Kutztown University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a concentration in mathematics.She also serves as a teacher liaison, coaches Anderson's baton twirlers, and is a member of the Parent-Teacher-Student Association and the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support Team.She is the wife of former Lansford resident Matthew J. Fredericks and is the granddaughter of Bertha Collevechio of Summit Hill and George "Bucky" Brimmer Jr. of Lansford.
