A look back: Aug. 2, 1955

Miss Faye Lewis, valedictorian of the Class of 1948 of Coaldale High School, has accepted a position as mathematics and science teacher at Lansford High School.

She succeeds James Vaiana of Nesquehoning, who resigned to accept a teaching position in Rochester, New York.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Lewis, 30 E. Ruddle St., Coaldale, she graduated magna cum laude in 1952 from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, and has been teaching mathematics in the Boiling Springs Schools in Middleton Township.

Her salary was set at $3,800 by the Lansford Board of Education.
