Two defendants in pending driving under the influences cases entered guilty pleas on Thursday in Carbon County court.
Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted the pleas from the following:
Eric Berger
, 35, of Lansford, was arrested on May 29 along Route 903 by Summit Hill police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
Sentencing was deferred to Berger can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.
Gregory Charles Maresca
, 28, of Kunkletown, was arrested on July 24, 2018, by Palmerton police along Lafayette Avenue. A test revealed a 0.21 BAC.
Serfass sentenced him to serve 30 days to 60 months in prison, a fine of $500, one-year license suspension, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and render 100 hours of community service.
He was given credit for 42 days spent in an inpatient rehabilitation program and paroled.
