Tamaqua man jailed on assault count

A homeless man from Tamaqua has been enjoying the hospitality of the Schuylkill County prison since May 11 after he assaulted his girlfriend.

Daniel M. Waldron, 34, threw spaghetti on his girlfriend, then punched her in the face at 4:52 p.m. Several people witnessed the incident, which happened in the area of 229 Cedar St.Waldron left when he learned police were called but was found in the same area around 8:30 p.m.He was arraigned before duty District Judge James Ferrier, of Orwigsburg, on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $1,000 straight, which he was unable to post.He remains in the county prison in Pottsville.
