2 injured in Schuylkill crash

Two people were slightly injured in a one-vehicle crash reported at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday along Tumbling Run Road in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Kayla E. Drasdis, 18, of Pottsville, was westbound operating a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer when she lost control while negotiating a slight left curve.The vehicle went partially into the eastbound lane, then began to skid back across the westbound lane, rotating clockwise about 110 degrees.The front bumper then hit a guide rail, flipped over the guide rail going airborne for about 120 feet before coming down on the roadside edge of a crevasse with a 40 foot drop off. The vehicle rolled over several times as it tumbled into the crevasse, troopers said. Both Drasdis and her passenger, Delaney M. Golden, 19, also of Pottsville, were secured in seat belts.Both were able to climb out of the vehicle. Both sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville. Kaska Fire Company volunteers assisted at the scene.Troopers cited Drasdis for the crash.
