A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 8:28 a.m. on Saturday along Route 1012 in Mahanoy Township.

State police at Frackville said Logan M. Vanhorn, 16, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 2003 Toyota Matrix westbound. As he crested a rise and negotiated a slight left curve, he lost control of the vehicle, which began to fishtail. The Matrix slid partway into the eastbound lane and began to rotate clockwise 45 degrees. The Matrix then slid back into and across the westbound lane and onto the shoulder. The front end entered a grassy area drop off. At this point the Matrix rolled over multiple times, striking several small trees as it continued west. The Matrix came to rest on its driver's side facing north.Vanhorn, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor to moderate injuries and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville Campus, by family members.Vanhorn was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
