A Northumberland County man was struck by a vehicle in Schuylkill County on Wednesday afternoon.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at 2:54 p.m. along Route 61, just south of East Adamsdale Road, in North Manheim Township.Troopers said Seth J. Savitsky, 20, of Landingville, Schuylkill County, was driving a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound while John M. Adams, 24, of Mount Carmel, was standing along the west shoulder. Troopers said Adams suddenly entered the roadway and was immediately struck by the Jeep.Adams was flown by medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Savitsky and his passenger, John Stiles, 30, of Minersville, were not injured.Troopers said Savitsky was cited for driving while operating privileges is suspended or revoked.
