A car driven by Michael G. Mesics, 67, of Palmerton, was struck from behind in a crash that happened at 5:20 p.m. Nov. 26 at the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and Mill Creek Road in Lower Macungie Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said neither he nor his passenger, Denise K. Mesics, 57, also of Palmerton, were injured.

Police said Mesics was legally stopped on Hamilton Boulevard at a steady red signal when a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze operated by Ryan D. Andreas, 18, of Alburtis, who was traveling behind the Mesics’ vehicle, failed to stop and struck the stopped vehicle.

Andreas’ vehicle needed to be towed from the scene, police said.
